INTRODUCING OUR NEW GARDENING SCHOLARSHIP

The Connie Rae Love Joy of Gardening Scholarship is named after one of the founding staff members of My Garden Nursery. Connie was a cherished member of the team bringing enthusiasm and excitement about people and plants that was infectious to all who had the honor of knowing her. Connie was instrumental in creating the original Plant-A-Head for Alzheimer’s Memory Garden that helped raise over $100,000 for Alzheimer's research.

After I was diagnosed with breast cancer, Connie and I completed the 3 day 60 mile Susan G. Komen walk to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. She made the experience a pure joy instead of the hard work it actually was. Always eager to help the store in non-traditional and unexpected ways, Connie was a star in the Gnome Home video.

Her enthusiasm, spirit, and glint in her eyes when she had a funny thought changed me and I will never forget her. Connie had customers who came in just to see her to share some laughter and silliness plus get tips on foliage color, texture and design.
